The Schyns BHL room controller Gen. 2 also provides full support for Schyns Biologic Health Light (BHL) and Human Centric Lighting (HCL). Biologically effective lighting sequences accompany the daily rhythm of patients and care staff alike and promote sleep quality, regeneration and emotional wellbeing.
In doing so, the control system harnesses the full performance range of the patented Schyns BHL system: it enables colour temperatures from 1,800 to 16,000 Kelvin and thus reproduces the complete physiologically relevant spectrum – from warm, calming evening light to activating daylight white.
The daylight simulation is based on 96 reference points per day, so that no simple, abrupt colour changes occur. Instead, colour temperature and brightness are adjusted continuously, in fine gradations and harmoniously. This creates a natural, daylight-like progression that has a noticeably positive effect on orientation, circadian stability and wellbeing.
An integrated connection to an optional external audio module for driving a structure-borne sound transducer or external loudspeaker extends the system with further applications, such as meditative soundscapes, relaxation programmes and gentle light/sound alarm clocks.
In addition, specific scenes can be stored for everyday clinical use, e.g. examination light, reading light, cleaning light, mint-green night light (particularly easy on the eyes and ideal for nightly rounds), calming light (with gentle, warm colour temperatures to reduce stress and restlessness) and activating light (with clear, bright and stimulating light colours to promote alertness and daytime activity).
Each scene can be precisely tailored to workflows, room structures and individual requirements.
