Photovoltaics
Sustainable Energy & Energy-Efficient Retrofits
At our location in Bad Ems, we meet a large portion of our electricity needs through a photovoltaic system. This allows us to reduce CO₂ emissions, lower energy costs, and actively contribute to climate protection. Our company building has undergone extensive energy-efficiency upgrades. Additional thermal insulation, new insulated windows, and a modernized data network now meet today’s standards for energy efficiency, workplace comfort, and digital infrastructure. We’re also committed to sustainability when it comes to mobility: Two-thirds of our vehicle fleet already consists of electric or hybrid vehicles.
Energy efficiency
Modern Lighting Technology for Sustainable Work
We are gradually switching all of our lighting to LED technology—from production areas to warehouses to offices. The conversion will be completed in the near future and will permanently reduce energy consumption. We are already using Schyns Biologic Health Light (BHL) / Human Centric Lighting (HCL) in our production facilities. This dynamic lighting, which mimics natural daylight, supports focused and healthy work.
Conservation of resources
Recycling and product life cycles
Our anodized aluminum profiles are fully recyclable. The durable and low-maintenance design of our medical supply units also allows for repairs and the reuse of individual components. In this way, we actively promote the circular economy. We also ensure the responsible use of resources in our day-to-day operations. Through consistent waste separation and the evaluation of sustainable packaging alternatives, we reduce waste and promote the recycling of valuable materials.

Employee well-being as part of our responsibility
The health and well-being of our employees are a top priority for us. Ergonomic workstations with height-adjustable desks, ergonomic seating solutions, eye-friendly monitors, and modern lighting are just as much a part of this as a health-conscious work environment in the production area. In addition, we promote health through preventive measures, a centrally located defibrillator, and benefits such as JobRad, free fruit, and beverages. Flexible work hours and above-average vacation time help employees balance their professional and personal lives and increase employee satisfaction.

Our medical supply units feature a modular design and are based on standardized components. This simplifies maintenance and repairs, extends the service life, and reduces the need for replacement parts. Right from the design phase, we take care to make components interchangeable and to avoid permanent, non-detachable connections whenever possible. Hygienic materials, smooth surfaces, and well-thought-out design solutions create optimal conditions for easy cleaning, long service life, and maximum safety in medical facilities.

When selecting our suppliers, we deliberately prioritize regional partners. Short transport routes reduce emissions, strengthen collaboration, and enhance supply security. Our specific sustainability goals
For us, sustainability is an ongoing development process. That is why we are constantly improving our processes, technologies, and working conditions. Our next steps include a complete switch to LED technology and the expansion of the Schyns Biologic Health Light (BHL) system to our office areas. In addition, we are modernizing our heating systems and plan to introduce a CO₂ monitoring system to increase transparency regarding energy consumption. We also aim to further reduce energy and material consumption in our manufacturing operations. Furthermore, we are focusing on more sustainable packaging solutions as well as promoting diversity, equal opportunity, and employee development.
