Nassau Hospice

On January 13, 2025, the first "guest" was welcomed. A hospice should be a special place of calm and security. In Nassau, therefore, not only comfortable accommodation and catering are offered, but also palliative medical, psychosocial and pastoral care to protect human dignity until the last moment.

True to our vision "healing architecture for all senses", the Q100 integrativ vitra plus with backlighting, Human Centric Lighting and integrasound was selected for this project. Care was taken to ensure a balanced mix of materials with warm, timeless colors.

The supply unit combines homely design with a high degree of ergonomics, which was also confirmed to us in conversation with the nursing staff.

The head of nursing told us that the possibilities of the different light scenes represent an absolute enrichment and can be used perfectly.

Especially the green night light has a high added value for the nursing staff. Green conveys calm and security and is perfect as a night light, as the resident is not disturbed and the nurse can still orient well.

She was also positively surprised, as she had not thought that the wake-sleep rhythm of the residents would improve so significantly thanks to Schyns Human Centric Lighting. The backlighting with its seamless, opal cover is also an absolute highlight, as it puts the room in a soft, warm and pleasant mood.

Another aspect is the possibility to decorate the "window" in the supply unit with personal items, which immediately leads to a homely feeling.

The sound system was also used immediately. Everyone agreed that the body sound transducer technology is perfectly suited for care facilities, as the patient has a great sound experience without disturbing other residents.

Since the TV is also connected to the sound system, residents with hearing difficulties can watch television without bothering others with high volume.

We are very pleased that our developments and technologies achieve exactly the effect they should. In this project, you can see that quality of stay and ergonomics do not have to compete with each other and a supply unit does not have to look medically oriented.
